Some verses I'm meditating on today:
"I will sing of steadfast love and justice;
to you, O Lord, I will make music.
I will ponder the way that is blameless.
Oh when will you come to me?
I will walk with integrity of heart
within my house;
I will not set before my eyes
anything that is worthless."
Psalm 101: 1-3, ESV
True integrity is found behind closed doors. Real righteousness and godliness is revealed by how we live and who we are in the places that most don't see...in our homes, in our rooms, in our souls.
"I will walk with integrity of heart within my house."
That's a search-my-heart and test-my-soul kind of verse that challenges and convicts me as I ask the hard questions: Do I have integrity within? Within my home, within my heart, within the hard places and the messy places and the places that no one else ever sees?
It's a counter-culture way of thinking in a world that is all about doing the things that make you feel good and look good and make you happy. So I think I need this one hanging on the doorposts of my heart, and on the walls of my house...so I remember: integrity within is more important than any kind of success without.
And so I made a printable to share with you...because maybe you need this one too? An encouragement to walk each day with deep-down, heart-and-soul-level integrity within our homes, behind the closed doors, at all times and in all places...
